You create an account online through http://www.onlyonce.com or by using the Only Once smartphone app. If you follow the quickstart procedure, you can exchange information with other Only Once users within less than 10 minutes. After this you can fill or expand your PDS at your own leisure.

How do I report a deceased person?
A request from a third party to terminate the account will only be taken into consideration when they use the special form to request the removal of a deceased person’s account. Only Once will only terminate an account and delete all information upon the receipt of a proper death certificate.

How secure is the Only Once platform?
As Only Once, security is not in our DNA, it is our DNA. Built from the ground up security is an integral part of the Only Once Personal Data Store. Confidentiality being a trait of individual fields in your vault, integrity is maintained by security measures that go far beyond what banks and governments have in place. When we run out of time to meet a deadline we cut features, instead of compromising on security. Why? Because with us, you enter your information Only Once, and we keep it save Forever.
How we do this?
We classify your information’s confidentiality to be either basic (information you enter over and over again, like your name and address), sensitive (information you want to keep private, like credit card information, religion, marital status, social security number) or top secret (typically official documents, like birth-certificates, ID cards). Basic information is stored behind your password, sensitive information is encrypted at all times and top secret information is stored in a vault for which you hold the unique key, a key we provide Only Once. You lose that key, the vault will be locked forever because we don’t keep a spare copy.
Sharing your basic information can be done by a simple user id and password authorization, but even then, to update your information you will need to provide an additional one time password. In this way we ensure that even basic information is entered Only Once, but stays save Forever.
If I now enter all my data in Only Once, am I not running a risk again, storing all my valuables in one place?
The Only Once-platform is designed to be save and secured at the highest possible levels of encryption. Nonetheless Only Once will have to prove to you that your data is fully save with us. That is our mission. It’s our highest priority to deserve, gain and keep your trust, 24 hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Who is able to see my data?
You can determine yourself which part of your information you consider ‘public’. Information that is marked ‘public’ on your profiles and in your PDS is visible to others. In order to make your information private, you can easily change this in your individual privacy settings.Anything that is not explicitly marked ‘public’ will be strictly private.
Only Once will only have limited access to your PDS and even then only after your formal request.

How does Only Once return the control of the data to the users?
Only Once is built and developed from the ground up in a way that allows customers to regain and retain control of their own data. Only Once users decide who can see (part) of their data. As soon as they want to change or terminate this, they can do this with a few clicks of the mouse. In this way, Only Once users retain control over their data. Their management over their own data guarantees its accuracy and can save all third parties and organizations they connect with, money, time and energy. The price organizations pay for this convenience is that they have to accept the individual’s terms and conditions for the sharing of their personal data.

How can Only Once make money? What does it cost to use it?
The base functionality of Only Once is free. For organizations and business alike. On top of this you can add additional functionality and/or capacity at an additional fee. Especially businesses will easily benefit from the convenience, ease of use, speed, accuracy, the certainty of having always correct data and the ability to deliver additional functionality and service to their customers. Only Once will never ever sell or rent out your data.
Organizations pay for the extra platform functionality, for the possibility to integrate with their legacy systems and for a better quality of information and data exchange with their customers.
For the paid services you can choose either monthly or yearly subscriptions. For yearly subscriptions, we offer discounts.
Will Only Once sell my data?
No, never! You will be in total control of your own data. At all times.
What does Only Once cost?
The core Personal Data Store is free. Going forward, we expect many specialist ‘added value’ services to emerge, offering to help individuals manage and use their data more effectively. Some of these services may charge a fee. But we intend to maintain a free core service to both individuals and organizations.
